Stars and Sabers Publishing announces greater emphasis on horror, fantasy, thriller, and mystery works going forward.

Following the success of the debut cross-genre anthology Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers, the magical fantasy and horror themed Of Enchantment, Enigma, and the Infinite, and the all-horror anthology, Of Dread, Decay, and Doom, Stars and Sabers will push further into horror and fantasy, as well as thriller and mystery works.

With the first standalone horror work, The Nga’phandileh Whisperer by Eugen Bacon, we now have an award-winning genre category. This October, Gutterspace marks the horror debut for Justine Norton-Kertson. In November, The Hyena, by David Quantick releases as a surrealist alternate history novel. In December, the dark fantasy fable When the Forest Calls by Cassandra Newbould will be released. In January 2027, Khan Wong’s urban fantasy Elegant Manifestations for the Beautiful and the Lost releases. In April 2027, KC Grifant’s debut fantasy and horror collection Fantastica Horrifica will publish.

From 2027 and beyond, we have several anthologies emphasizing the push into these genres. Of Starlight and Roses is a romantasy anthology co-edited by Jendia Gammon and Helen Glynn Jones (The Last Raven). Of Terrors and Tombstones is a Weird West anthology of horror tales co-edited by Jendia Gammon and KC Grifant. Of Intrigue and Espionage pushes forward into the thriller genre as a spy thriller anthology co-edited by Jendia Gammon and Gareth L. Powell (Unleashed). Of Blades, Betrayal, and Blood is a grimdark fantasy anthology co-edited by Jendia Gammon and J.L. Worrad (Pennyblade). The Void and the Darkness is a space horror anthology co-edited by Jendia Gammon and Kali Wallace. Of Capers and Clues is a cozy mystery anthology co-edited by Jendia Gammon and Gareth L. Powell. Of Snowflakes and Firesides will be a winter fantasy anthology co-edited by Jendia Gammon and Gareth L. Powell. Exciting, to-be-announced horror anthologies are also forthcoming.
